Henley Hall of Fame luncheon Saturday
Tickets now are on sale for the Henley High School Athletic Hall of Fame luncheon scheduled to begin at 12:45 Saturday at the high school cafeteria. The doors will open at noon for socializing. The cost is $5 for adults, and $3 for children under 12.
Being inducted into the Hall this year are athletes Becky deJong (class of 1995), Shane Cheyne (1991), Shana Hilyard (1993) and Heather Miller (1996), along with the 1993, ‘94 and ‘94 girls state cross country champions, and the 1996 state championship baseball team.
Also being inducted are contributors Mike Noonan and Marvin Rosser.
Lost River Hall of Fame induction Saturday
MERRILL — Lost River will have its third Athletic Hall of Fame inductions at 6 p.m. Saturday at the school. Cost is $20, and dinner will be served by the Lost River FFA.
Being inducted this year are coach Mike Millsap (football and girls basketball), and athletes Ryan Gallagher (rodeo), Ryan McAuliffe (baseball), Criss Duncan (football, track and field), Cory Turner (football, baseball), Jana Ongman-Dunlea (volleyball, basketball, track and field), and Amie Moudry-McAulliffe (track and field.
Also entering the Hall iscontributor is Martin’s Food Center.
Jefferson State Shooting Association meeting today
The Jefferson State Shooting Association will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. today in the Spring Street entrance meeting room at the Klamath County Museum. All interested shooters are welcome.
Linkville Lopers Spud Run/Walk scheduled for Saturday
The annual Linkville Lopers Spud Run/Walk is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday in Merrill, with the start and finish both across the street from the gas station.
Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the two-mile event to cost $5, or $10 for a family. The cost of the five-mile race is $10.
Steen Sports Park batting cage sessions run all week
Winter hours for the Steen Sports Park batting cages have been established, and will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Weekend events at the Bill Scholtes Klamath Sportsmans Park
Two of this weekend’s three shooting events at the Bill Scholtes Klamath Sportsmans Park will be Saturday, with the other one Sunday.
An action steel match begins at 9:30 p.m. Saturday on the Bill Mason Pistol Range, with setup to begin at 8 a.m. And registration is at 9. The cost of the event, which is for center-fire handguns only, is $10. For information, contact Bill Watson at 541-882-9491.
A lever-gun silhouette match of the Richard Wickline 600-yard range begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, and a $10 fee is required for two classes on firearms. For information, contact Scott at 541-884-1701.
Sunday’s precision rifle match on the Larry Martin 200-yard Range is for .22 rim-fire rifles only. Match fee is $10, with juniors under 19 free. Juniors 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Setup begins at 8 a.m., with the match to start at noon.

Klamath Basin Sports fall swap this weekend
Klamath Basin Sports will host is annual fall swap meet over the weekend, where old gear can be swapped, or sold. Equipment can be dropped off at KBS at 316 So. 6th St.

Halloween 5K run/walk next week
Mazama’s wrestling team will host the second annual Halloween 5K run/walk at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Running Y. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Under the pavilion. The cost is $20 and individuals can come for the best costume for those dress for the occasion.

Halloween Spooktacular on Oct. 31 at the convention center
The Running Y will host its fourth annual Halloween Spooktacular from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the convention center.
Cost is $2 person or three cans of non-perishable food items to benefit the Klamath Animal Shelter or Klamath-Lake Counties Food Bank.
This year’s activities include games for children, a Hotel Transylvania-themed maze, scavnenger hunt, costume contest, cake walk (with cakes and cupcakes dominated by several groups), and trick or treating. There also will be face painting and coloring.
Henley cheer camp next Saturday
Henley will host a cheerleading camp from noon to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, with a performance to follow the camp. The cost is $25 per individual, and cheer gear will be available for purchase.
Camp activities will include tumbling, games, cheers, stunts, dance and more.
Participants need to provide their own water and snacks, as well as dress comfortably.

Free youth pheasant hunt Saturday
SALEM — Klamath Falls will host the third of three days free youth pheasant hunts Saturday.
While the hunt itself is free, all participants need a valid hunting license ($10 for youth 12 and over, free for those 11 and under). Youth hunters 12-17 also need an upland game bird validation ($4). They can be purchased at license sale agents, ODFW offices which sell licenses or online.
All youth hunters must be accompanied by an adult 21 or older to supervise, but cannot hunt. Both the hunter and supervisor must wear a hunter orange hat, eye protection and a hunter orange vest. They also must check in-and-out of the hunt.
The shoot is scheduled for the Miller Island Unit is open to youth hunters on a first-come, first-served basis.
