Klamath Trails Alliance meeting today

Klamath Trails Alliance will have its October meeting today, according to a news release. The meeting will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the South Portal Building, 205 Riverside Drive.

Participants are encouraged to come for all or part of the meeting to discuss ways to further the group’s mission of promoting trails in Klamath County.

Arboretum walk, tree panel set for Sunday

A free Fall Tree Walk and a Tree Problem Panel will be held at the Klamath Community Arboretum at Oregon Institute of Technology from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release. The event is free and open to the public.

At 1 p.m., visitors can join the Arboretum Tree Walk: The Fall and Winter Garden. The tour will focus on evergreen shapes and colors, and fall foliage plants. At 1:30 p.m., the Tree Problem Panel will focus on the challenges to growing healthy trees in the Klamath Basin.

To reach the arboretum from Crater Lake Parkway, take Campus Drive and turn right at the OIT campus. At Bryant Williams Drive, turn left, an follow it along the upper east side of the campus. The arboretum is on the left.

Final 2018 Klamath Lake Land Trust hike set

The final Klamath Lake Land Trust hike of the 2018 series will be on Saturday, Oct. 20, according to a news release. The hike will include a boat trip to Upper Klamath Lake’s Buck Island and an exploration of the island. The hike is rated as easy to moderate.

Registration is open for Klamath Lake Land Trust’s 7th Annual fundraiser dinner and auction Event Nov. 3 at Reames Golf and Country Club.

Cocktail hour begins at 5 p.m., dinner served at 6 p.m. and words from the Land Trust at 6:45 p.m. A live auction follows at 7 p.m.
