Fletcher,  Anna Lee

Anna Lee Fletcher was born November 26, 1919, and died peacefully on November 29, 2021, in Sparks, Nevada. Anna was 102. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and lived for many years in Newell, California where she attended the Newell Baptist Church and forged many close friendships. Anna had 2 boys from her first marriage: Charles and James Loyd. She married Harold A (H.A.) Fletcher in 1951, and added 3 more boys to the family: Thomas, Robert, and Jerry Fletcher. In 1960, Anna and Harold retired to Newell and purchased the land and buildings remaining from Tulelake's WWII Japanese Relocation Center. They converted the buildings to apartments for locals and seasonal hunters, and named the property "Flying Goose Lodges". Anna was widowed when Harold died in 1985, and remained in Newell until 1996, when she began living with her sons: first with Jerry in Redding; then with James in Cave Junction; and finally with Robert in Sparks, NV. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Augusta Cromer and her eldest son, Charles Loyd. Anna is survived by four of her sons: James Loyd, Thomas Fletcher, Robert Fletcher, and Jerry Fletcher, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Anna now rests next to her husband, Harold, in the Malin Community Cemetery.
