Jack Baker, 82, passed away at his home in Klamath Falls on Jan. 2, 2023. Jack was born to OV and Ruth Baker in Hermiston, Oregon, on Nov. 10, 1940. As a teenager, he moved to Klamath Falls with his family, graduating from KUHS in 1958. Jack married Lynda Lewis Spencer on Jan. 24, 1970. They were married for 52 years. They made their home in Klamath Falls and raised their four children. Jack loved Lynda and his family immeasurably. Jack was an astute business man, starting his own business, Baker Construction, in 1970. He spent almost 30 years erecting commercial buildings in Oregon and California. Jack retired from construction at the age of 55 and immediately began to build the foundation of Red Dog Ranch. He spent the happiest years of his life breeding Angus cattle and raising alfalfa. Over the years Jack enjoyed hunting with friends and family, creating elaborate and comfortable camps, including circus size canvas tents, hot showers and "gourmet" cowboy cooking. Jack is survived by his wife, Lynda; his grandchildren, Jack "Avery" (Traegon) Baker, Austin (Rachael) Baker, Garrett (Mackenzie) Baker, Whitney (Travis) Andrews, Dakota (Paul) Donahoe, Jordon (Zach) Cummings; Daughters, Margaret (Matthew) McCadden and Charlene Baker; eight great-grandchildren with another on the way in April; Nephew, Eric (Megan) Baker; and other numerous family members and special friends. Jack was preceded in death by his four children, Scott, Greg, Shelly and Jack JR. Services will be held on Jan. 14, 2023, at Mt. Laki Church, 12570 Hwy 39, Klamath Falls, at 11:30 a.m. Concluding services will be held at Mt. Laki Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Mt. Laki Church.
