Double Devil wild horses

The Modoc National Forest will host an online adoption event Feb. 11-15 of wild horses at its Double Devil Wild Horse Corrals near Alturas.

ALTURAS — The Modoc National Forest has placed 128 horses from the 2018 gather since mid-November, leaving approximately 121 horses at the Double Devil Wild Horse Corrals near Alturas still in need of placement. An “Online Adoption Event” is scheduled for Feb. 11-15, according to a news release.

These horses are available for adoption, and those more than 10 years old are also available for sale with limitations.

The new Double Devil Online Corrals are found at Adopters and buyers will be able to pick out their horses anytime during the online adoption event and make appointments for pickup.

At times other than specific adoption events, adopter/purchaser viewing, selection and pickup opportunities are by appointment on Wednesdays and Fridays every week and the first Saturday of every month. Appointments must be confirmed at least seven days in advance after filling out the “Viewing and Pickup Scheduling” request form at and submitting it to
