The cause of death has been released for an 11-year-old Malin boy who died March 5.
According to District Attorney Rob Patridge, an autopsy was performed last week on Colton Glen Howard. The young man died at his home after sustaining a gunshot injury.
Patridge said the cause of death was determined to be a single .22 rifle round. The wound to the chest was determined to be self-inflicted.
Other details on the investigation, such as how Howard had access to the gun, were not released Monday.
“At this point in time, the DA’s office does not intend to file charges,” Patridge said.
