Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment Workshop planned Saturday in Klamath Falls

The Oregon Department of Land Conservation & Development is facilitating a workshop in Klamath Falls to help understand how weather variability is affecting your livelihood, well-being and community.

Tell us your story from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 18 at Klamath Falls Community College, Conference Center Building 7.

Families welcome and snacks provided.

This project is focused on how climate change impacts people — their physical and mental health, their ability to make a living and how they connect with their community.

A team at the University of Oregon’s Institute for Policy, Research and Engagement is leading the public engagement for this assessment through interviews, public workshops and a community survey.

The team is expects to finish the project by June this year.

Ultimately, the assessment will generate a report that will be presented to the Oregon Legislature to recommend further actions be taken to identify adaptation strategies that will benefit people in their everyday lives.
