Lake Jam III taking registrations
Teams now are being registered for Lake Jam III, which this year will be July 28-29 at Veterans Memorial Park. Basketball teams can be registered at lakejamoregon.com. Additional activities also will take place over the weekend.
All proceeds from the weekend go to 33 Athletes, which is an athletic fund to benefit Klamath County and surrounding youth programs, equipment, facility needs and other related needs.
Bonanza youth track camp is Friday
BONANZA — Bonanza will host its annual track and field camp for students in kindergarten through the eighth grade from 3-5 p.m.Friday at the school’s track.
The cost is $15 and includes a T-shirt and healthy snacks.

Fall youth soccer teams being organized
Early-bird registrations for Basin United’s fall recreational youth soccer league ends July 31, with all registrations to end Aug. 17. The cost is $65 through July, and $75 thereafter. Games begin Sept. 14-15, and the league runs through Oct. 26-27.
Divisions are little kickers (2-3 years old), grasshoppers (4-5 years old), kindergarten coed, first and second grades, third and fourth grades, fifth and sixth grades, and seventh and eighth grades.

Pickleball exhibition set for Wednesday
Klamath Basin Pickleball Association members will participate in exhibition challenge games against Southern Oregon professional Joel Heller and his partner at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Stukel Park court.
Heller and his partner are on their way to the Bend Senior Games.
There will be two men’s doubles games, and one mixed doubles game in the exhibition, and those who attend will be asked to donate $5 which will go toward the building fund for the Steen Sports Park Pickleball Court.
Bonanza All-Comers meet Saturday
BONANZA — The annual Bonanza All-Comers track and field meet is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the school’s track. The cost is $3 per child, and events will be modified because of age groups.
Divisions at tiny tots (3 and under), little leapers (ages 4-5), first and second graders (in the fall), third and fourth graders, fifth and sixth graders, and seventh and eighth graders.

Men’s adult summer soccer coming
Basin United’s men’s summer adult soccer league begins play July 8, and runs through Aug. 26. The cost is $450 per team, and play will be 7-on-7, including the goalkeeper.
Players must be 18 years old or at least a senior in high school. There is no requirement for females in a league meant for the most competitive players.

Henley boys basketball camp next week
A basketball camp for Henley boys entering grades sixth through ninth grade will be June 19-21 at the high school. The camp will feature skill work with Henley coaches and players, as well as games.
The camp will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $40. Registration can be done at the door.

Clinton golf tournament set for June 23
The ninth annual Marie Clinton Memorial Golf Tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at the Indian Camp Golf Course. Cost is $45 per player for the 18-hole, two-person scramble. Raffle prizes include a Vizio 55-inch smart television.
All proceeds go to the Marie Clinton scholarship fund for local students.

Two shooting events set for weekend
Two shooting matches are scheduled for this weekend at the Bill Scholtes Klamath Sportsmans Park, starting with a 9:30 a.m. Saturday action steel match for center-fire handguns only on the Bill Mason Pistol Range.

A precision rifle match on the Larry Martin 200-yard Range is scheduled for 9 a.m. Sunday. The event, which is $10, is for rim-fire rifles only. Juniors under 19 can shoot for free. Those 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Eye and ear protection is required of all shooters and spectators. The use of tracer or any spark-generating ammunition is prohibited at all times.
Concealed weapons class to be Saturday
TULELAKE — A concealed carry class for Tulelake and Siskiyou County residents will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Tulelake Police Department, 470 C Street.
The classes meet the Department of Justice requirements for issuance and renewal of concealed carry permits. The class is open to the public, but to obtain the permit, a participant must be a California resident.
Participants must bring 50 rounds of ammunition for each gun for which they want a permit.
Beeson golf tournament set for Saturday
The fifth annual David Beeson Memorial Scholarship golf tournament is scheduled for noon Saturday at Shield Crest Golf Course. The four-person scramble includes a catered dinner and a raffle, and is $100 per person or $400 per team.
Club members receive a discounted entry fee.
Proceeds of the tournament will be used for scholarships for high school students in Klamath County, and more than 20 scholarships have been handed out over the previous four years. The scholarship committee intends to award between two and five scholarships.

Shooting association to meet June 20
The Jefferson State Shooting Association will have its monthly business meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at the Klamath County Museum meeting room near the Spring Street entry. The meeting is open to all interested shooters.
