Sky Lakes Medical Center announced Tuesday that it would be doubling the sign-on bonus for new nurses to $20,000. The new policy requires nurses to commit to working at Sky Lakes for at least three years, and it applies to nurses working at any of the Sky Lakes medical properties. The bonus also includes a moving allowance of up to $10,000.

The enhanced sign-on bonus looks to expand Sky Lakes’ recruitment of qualified nurses in Klamath Falls.

Sky Lakes CEO David Cauble said, “Competition for nurses is especially intense,” and that the Sky Lakes “financial outlook is stable and we are actively recruiting healthcare professionals.”

Current Sky Lakes employees are also eligible for a bonus of up to $5,000 if they help to re-recruit nurses who have left Sky Lakes and have been away for at least six months.
