Klamath Tribes Chairman Don Gentry has been elected for another three-year term.

Results from the April 27 Klamath Tribes tribal elections show Gentry won chairman position with 201 votes. Ten candidates vied for the seat.

Myra Gail Hatcher won the vice chairman seat with 278 votes.

Gentry said his re-election was good news.

“I feel we’re right on the verge of moving forward with some positive things, and I really want to help see those through,” Gentry said.

He said the Tribes are discussing opening an RV park and hotel, and expanding the casino.

Gentry said he would also like to improve services to tribal members.

Gentry said he is looking forward to working with the new elected officials.

“I’m hoping we can build a strong, united team to move forward and serve the best interest of our people,” Gentry said.

Gentry and other election winners will be seated after a period for contesting the election has passed. If no complaints are filed, the new tribal council will be seated at the next general council meeting, May 11, Gentry said.
