At least one person is dead following a crash involving three vehicles south of Klamath Falls, according to KOTI-TV/NBC2 news.

The accident happened shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday about 10 miles south of Klamath Falls on Highway 97. It closed the highway for several hours.

“We have a total of three vehicles, we have one fatality,” said Sgt. Randall Hand of the Oregon State Police. “We have, I believe, six other victims between the three vehicles.”

Sgt. Hand says police were responding to a driving complaint in the area just a few minutes before the crash. “We had two units from the Oregon State Police responding to this location in an attempt to find a white van. The report was that it was, I believe, all over the road, driving in an erratic manner.”

Police say a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The names and conditions of the others involved have not been released.
