An iconic part of Klamath Falls scenery toppled in winds Saturday as a winter storm blew through the area. Lone pine, a dead tree at the top of Hogback Mountain, was a destination for hikers, and according to Herald and News archives, died in 2008.
The Klamath County Museum has led several hikes to the 6,200-foot summit of Hogback Mountain, including a trip to pay respects to the decades-old tree after it died.
