For the first time in almost two decades, cultural exchange wrestling will take place in Klamath Falls.
The Japanese junior national team currently is touring Oregon, and a match at 6 p.m. Monday at Henley High School has been added to the group’s schedule after its Salem stop was canceled.
A team of wrestlers from around Southern Oregon is being compiled to compete against the Japanese team.
Wrestlers from Henley, Illinois Valley, Phoenix and North Medford have agreed to participate in Monday’s match.
The Japanese team, meanwhile, will visit Crater Lake National Park today and will make the trek of the Lava Beds National Monument Monday.
The last cultural exchange wrestling match held in Klamath Falls was in the early 1990s when a team from New Zealand visited.
