Oregon Institute of Technology earned a top ten spot among the U.S. News Media Group's best regional colleges in the Western United States, according to the group's website.
OIT received the No. 7 rank on a list of more than 30 colleges across 15 states, including Texas, Colorado, California and Alaska. The report will be featured in the September issue of U.S. News and World Report available Aug. 31.
Colleges ranked on the list are judged on several aspects, including peer assessment, faculty resources, financial resources, and graduation and retention rates.
The college also received the No. 42 spot on the list of best undergraduate engineering programs in the country.
"I don't think we've ever been on that list ever before," OIT president Chris Maples said.
