A man pulled over near downtown Klamath Falls was found to be in possession of 11 pounds of methamphetamine Sunday morning, the Oregon State Police announced in a press release.

James E. Gonzalez, 25, from Norwalk, Calif., was pulled over by an OSP trooper while driving northbound on Highway 97 near milepost 274, which is near the exit into downtown Klamath Falls. The man was driving a 1991 Land Rover Discovery with Nevada license plates.

Additional investigation led to the discovery of 11 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in the vehicle. The estimated value of the drugs is $143,000, a OSP press release said.

Gonzalez was booked into the Klamath County Jail on charges of unlawful possession, distribution and manufacture of methamphetamine.
