Christmas tree permits available Monday

    Permits to cut Christmas trees on the Fremont-Winema National Forests will be sold from Monday through Dec. 24 at all ranger districts and several commercial outlets.

    The nonrefundable Christmas tree permits cost $5. According to a press release, each permit is valid for one tree. Cutting areas are on Fremont-Winema lands in Klamath and Lake counties.

Should Oregon change its law requiring attendants to pump gas?

Drivers in New Jersey could soon pump their own gas under a bill being introduced in the Assembly. Under current law residents are not permitted to pump their own gas. New Jersey and Oregon are the only two states that require attendants to pump gas. Should Oregon change its law? Send comments to gobrien@heraldandnews.com
