A man armed with a gun robbed the Purple Parrot Lounge on South Sixth Street at 2 a.m. today, fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Authorities say the robber held a cashier and taxi driver at gunpoint and forced the cashier to open the cash drawer. Klamath County sheriff’s deputies, with the assistance of a city police canine unit, canvassed the area. The scene was processed for forensic evidence by sheriff detectives.

The suspect was described as a white male in his 20s, with a slender build and about 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8. He is believed to have blonde hair and blue eyes. The suspect wore a stocking cap and a bandana across his face with a hooded sweatshirt under a flannel shirt.
