Bunnell letter omits many Bible teachings

Saturday, January 3, 2009 11:58 PM PST
The only things I found reverenced in the “Reverend” Dr. Larry Bunnell’s Dec. 11 letter were homosexuality and “pick and choose Christianity.”

Leviticus 18:22 says that homosexuality is an abomination unto the Father. 18:24 says of fornication, adultery, homosexuality and bestiality: “for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you.” Every nation which has accepted homosexuality has thereafter gone into idolatry. Revelation 21:8 says that “the abominable will have their part in the lake” of fire.

Bunnell denies that we can know the Father’s will, thereby denying His Word, the scriptures. Bunnell contradicts the Son in Matthew 7:21, where the Son says only those doing the will of the Father will inherit the kingdom of Heaven. Romans 10:17, “...faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

Because the Son didn’t mention abortion or slavery doesn’t mean that he condoned them. Polygamy didn’t come from Heaven; it came from man.

Saying that the Father and Son don’t care about what people do sexually is ludicrous. 1st Corinthians 6:9-10, “Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers...shall inherit the kingdom of God.” Bunnell probably asserts that because there wasn’t a man presented with the woman caught in adultery that this must not be original Scripture. Obviously the man was a Pharisee or scribe (lawyer). The Son did not condemn her, but said, “go, and sin no more.” Unequivocal.

Bunnell even disengages the Old and New Testaments, calling one the Hebrew Scripture and one the Christian Testament. Every New Testament author referenced the Old Testament, including Luke, who may have been a gentile. The book of Revelation cites the Old Testament over 600 times. The New Covenant, Hebrews 8:10-13, is first mentioned in Jeremiah 31:33. (Not a different law, but better promises.)

Finally, Bunnell even denies the Resurrection and Ascension, having the Son “spinning in his grave.” For shame.

" JC- you should get a life, Christians are
people and most think and know they are no better than anybody else, because we all fall short of the glory of God and are born sinners and die sinners. it's people like you who put Christians on the pedestal and don't understand what any of it means. "

" I don't see any of these Christian extremists protesting outside Red Lobster even though the bible explicitly states that eating shellfish is sin (Leviticus 11:10). Why is that? Because they're hypocrites? "

" So, they won't "inherit the kingdom" - so That's between them and King James' version of God.

The rest of us should maybe lay hubris aside, abstain from judgement (as another scripture admonishes), and leave alone that which is between consenting adults and God.

Those who imagine they're God, or that they're messengers of God, or who are hopelessly obsessed with intrusive thoughts of homosexual activities - should perhaps seek professional, rather than religious assistance. Or, maybe find some joy in their lives, so they can leave other people to their own, private joys. "

" I never saw the word homosexual in the Bible. Is this your interpretation of Gods word?

I guess there will be many people not making it into heaven since idolaters mean worshipping things other than the true God. Examples are, homes, cars, pickups, money, jobs, boats, adult toys, RV'S, etc. in which they protect first before the true word of God.

I'm really sick and tired of the so called rigtheous individuals coming out a speaking they know nothing of the true Gods word and themselves not living it. "

" Religion is mans attempt to get close to God and Christianty is Gods attempt to be close to man by reading the Bible, so read the Bible and believe. "
