The death of Willamette University head women’s basketball coach Bruce Henderson Monday has led to the cancellation of this weekend’s Oregon Tech Classic.
Willamette, which had been scheduled to play Corban Tuesday, was scheduled to play Southern Oregon Friday and the host Oregon Tech women’s team Saturday in the tournament cut short by a previous cancellation.
Henderson, 47, who was in his fourth season as head women’s basketball coach at the Salem school, collapsed during practice Monday and died of an apparent heart-related incident Willamette officials said in a press release.
