Caregivers deserve recognition for efforts
In acknowledgment of National Family Caregivers Month, we at Klamath Hospice Inc. would like to honor the contribution of family caregivers in the Klamath Basin area, and recognize the very important work they do. We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the family caregivers and the tireless work they do to provide care for their loved ones. Thank you for your service.
As well, Klamath Hospice, Inc., would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all the adult foster care homes, assisted living facilities and to Marquis Care at Plum Ridge for all their excellent care. We are honored to work with you all, and gratefully acknowledge your caregiving expertise, as well as your advocacy skills.
NFC Month – observed every November – is a nationally recognized month that seeks to draw attention to the many challenges facing family caregivers, advocate for stronger public policy to address family caregiving issues, and raise awareness about community programs that support family caregivers.
It has been said that there are only four kinds of people in the world – those who have been caregivers, those who currently are caregivers, those who will be caregivers and those who will need caregivers.
Unfortunately, this is not an exaggeration. According to the National Family Caregivers Association more than 50 million people are family caregivers in any given year. A family caregiver is defined as someone who cares for a chronically ill, disabled or elderly loved one.
During National Family Caregivers Month, Klamath Hospice Inc. urges everyone to celebrate family caregivers by actively helping a caregiving family you know. Klamath Hospice Inc. is committed to raising public awareness regarding the issues surrounding family caregiving.
