Find out where to get a pumpkin, go trick-or-treating

Family events and attractions

Klamath Jaycees haunted house

-2200 S. Sixth St.

-Open 7 p.m. to midnight Friday 


-$4 per ticket, $1 discount per person with a can of food.

Proceeds go to service club, Klamath-Lake Counties Food Bank, and Kleos Children’s Community.

Oregon Institute of Technology haunted house

-In the OIT residence halls

- 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday

-Free admission. Participants encouraged to bring cash or non-perishable food item donation for the Klamath-Lake Counties Food Bank.

-For more information, call 885-1094.

Four house attractions available, divided into two very scary tents and two not-so-scary tents. There will also be two game areas for younger children, and a trick or treat hall.

Family Harvest Festival

-    Steen Sports Park, indoor soccer fields

-    6 to 8 p.m. Friday

-    Free candy, game booths and activities for families with children through the sixth grade. The harvest festival event is sponsored by local churches.

Trick-or-treating at the Spokes office

- 3 to 5 p.m. Friday

Trick-or-treat at the Herald and News

2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Friday

Community trick-or-treat at Linkville House

- 2437 Kane St.

- 3 to 5 p.m. Friday

-Call 882-0440 for more information.

This event is open to children 12 years and younger are invited to come for trick-or-treat tours of the house with their parents. Refreshments will be served. 

The Amaizen Maze

-1405 Old Fort Road

- Open noon to 7 p.m. Friday and  from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday

-$7 per person.

-Call 850-0116 for more information.

Activities include a five-acre corn maze, a children’s corn maze, a hay maze, hay rides and more.

Bly branch of the Klamath County Library

-    Open house with goodies for goblins of all ages

-    5 to 7:30 p.m. today

-    The branch library is in Gearhart Elementary School.

Youngsters are also invited for a 10 a.m. Halloween story followed by a quick arts and crafts session. Costumes are encouraged.

Klamath County Library story time

-126 S. Third St.

-10:15 a.m. Friday

-Free event

The story will focus on the theme of bats.

Pumpkin patches

Klamath Lutheran Church pumpkin patch

-1175 Crescent Ave.

-Open through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Pumpkin patch on Hwy 66

-9037 Hwy. 66.

-Open through Sunday from noon until dark.

Adult events

American Legion costume contest and Halloween party

-228 N. Eighth St.

- 8 p.m. to close, Friday

Dance music provided by Double R. 

Gino’s Café presents: “The Scary Godmother”

-147 E. Main St.

-Begins at 7 p.m. Fridayand Saturday

-$20 per person

Participants will enjoy authentic Italian pizza while viewing “The Scary Godmother,” a murder mystery play. Participants invited to wear cosumes. For more information, call 884-6474

Kla-mo-ya Halloween costume contest

- Registration begins at 9:30 p.m. Friday

-Kla-mo-ya Casino 34333 Hwy 97 N., Chiloquin. 

- Call 783-7529 for more information.

Participants need to be at least 21. Costume restrictions include no masks or face coverings, and no fake weapons. All contest participants need to be registered by 9:30 p.m. Voting starts at 10 p.m. Winner of the best overall costume wins $1,000. Officials will also give five additional category prizes of $500 apiece.

Waldo’s Halloween costume party

- Friday night

-610 Main St.

Participants need to be at least 21. Secret entertainment will be revealed at the event. Cash prizes will be provided for the best costumes.
