Tribes sign option agreement for tree farm purchase

No purchase price has been disclosed for the land between Spring Creek and Chemult

The Klamath Tribes have signed an option agreement to purchase the 90,000-acre Mazama Tree Farm on former Klamath Indian Reservation lands from Fidelity National Financial. No purchase price has been disclosed.

The tree farm, which straddles Highway 97 for 24 miles between Spring Creek Hill and Chemult, has had various owners since the Tribes lost federal recognition in 1954. Read the full story in Wednesday's Herald and News print edition.

" How about we pay $0.04 cents per acre? You can bet that America was bought for less then that. Then you would still have a profit.

How else can it be that Indians, across America, live in 3rd world conditions? America is supposed to be the land of opportunity and justice, equality, but the Original inhabitants of this land will always be the facts that disturb this American illusion.

People like you would love to forget. People like you get mad when Indians speak up about injustice.
People like you were educated/brainwashed to believe in manifest destiny and to believe in racial superiority.
People like me remember, the Truth. "

Is there a "purchase price"?? How much, or is it one of those now we own it and you don't?

It wasn't that long ago, and I remember alot of bickering about back room private meetings and deals.

Here is another one. Looks like another done deal, behind closed doors. "

" I hope it wont be a giveaway! Or just pay back taxes!

The standard $5,000.00 an acre for uninproved land in Klamath County sounds about fair. "
