Updated: Mercy Flights called for victim of Highway 140 crash

Emergency crews are responding to the scene of motorcycle and deer crash

Posted 4:20 p.m., Thursday: A Portland man was airlifted to Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford Thursday morning after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a deer on Highway 140. Emergency crews from Lake and Klamath counties responded to the crash, which was about three miles east of Bly.

Brian Frid was driving his motorcycle east on the highway at about 65 miles per hour when a deer ran out in front of him, said Oregon State Police trooper Travis Peterson.

Posted 10 a.m. Thursday: Emergency crews from Lake and Klamath County are responding to a crash involving a motorcycle and a deer about five miles west of the county line on Highway 140.

Mercy Flights was activated for the crash that was reported at about 9:15 a.m. No other information is available at this time. Check this site for developments; for additional details, check out Friday's print edition.
