Hearing on gas pipeline planned

Proposed project would start in Wyoming and end in Malin

Friday, October 17, 2008 2:09 AM PDT
A meeting on the proposed Ruby Pipeline natural gas pipeline project will be at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the Lakeview Elks Lodge.

The proposed pipeline would start in Opal, Wyo., and end in Malin. As part of its route, the line would go through Utah and Nevada and swing through the Lakeview area on private and Fremont-Winema National Forests land. The staff of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is preparing an environmental impact statement that will evaluate impacts of the 42-inch diameter pipeline and other facilities.
