Lakeview runners place at festival

MONMOUTH — Lakeview placed seventh in the girls race and 13th in the boys varsity race at the New Balance Festival of Champions cross country meet at Western Oregon University over the weekend. The Honkers were the only Class 2A school in the meet dominated by Class 5A schools.

Individually, Ashley Baldovino was second overall in the girls varsity race, while her cousin Talissa was eighth. In the boys race, Cy Swartzlender was 10th.
