School boundary plan meeting changed to Sept. 24
Board is scheduled to accept merger petition Wednesday
A legal technicality will keep Klamath County’s two school districts’ boundary realignment plan off the Southern Oregon Education Service District boundary board’s agenda Wednesday, but the board will consider a petition to merge the districts.
The Medford-based boundary board postponed its decision on whether to implement the districts’ proposal until Sept. 24 because it failed to publish notice of its Sept. 17 public meeting 25 days in advance. But officials say the board is expected to give its nod to the realignment plan. “We can’t do anything other than to approve it,” said Steve Boyarsky, superintendent of the education service district.
