8 a.m., Friday, Sept. 5, 2007
The trial for a couple accused of sexually assaulting a dog has been postponed. Steven Baker 52, and Kim Baalbergen 49, were charged with three counts of sexual assault of an animal, a misdemeanor, in December. They both posted bail and have been released from the Klamath County Jail.
A trial was scheduled to begin this week. A hearing to discuss rescheduling the trial date will be Sept. 16. According to court documents, Baker told investigators he made $12,000 by selling videotapes of his girlfriend, Baalbergen, having sex with a dog. More public safety updates will be in today's Herald and News print edition.
