    Battle zucchini

    Overwhelmed with zucchini? Some of us at the Herald and News are. One of our copy editors brought in a box of giant zucchini last week and put us to the test. I turned one specimen into four loaves of zucchini bread and a casserole and still had a significant amount left. That’s not counting the zucchini that ended up in my eyebrows.     On Tuesday night, the H&N sports department covered the crosstown doubleheader between Triad and Hosanna Christian. Seeing as the teams are in the same town and league, and each school's respective gyms are packed more so than usual when they square off, we sports guys have determined this clash needs a name.

As of Tuesday evening, there were 116 people in the Klamath County Jail, which has a designed capacity of 152.

    Eric Brian Wilkinson, 34, Bonanza, parole violation, probation violations (three counts aggravated theft, first-degree theft, unlawful use of a vehicle); held without bail.


    Richard Bryce Hayes, 32, 3611 Highway 97 No. 24, unlawful possession of methamphetamine; held in lieu of $7,500 bail.

Christopher Morgan Gentry, 25, Bonanza, three counts felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, recklessly endangering, fourth-degree assault; held in lieu of $55,000 bail.

Edwin Jay Ottenbacher, 36, 17840 Keno Warden Road, probation violation (unlawful possession off methamphetamine), failure to appear; held in lieu of $12,500 bail.

Darrell Allen Waterbury, 20, Chiloquin, six counts unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, two counts first-degree theft by receiving, two counts second-degree burglary, second-degree forgery, first-degree criminal mischief, two counts criminal conspiracy, first-degree theft; held in lieu of $145,000 bail.

    Juan David Rodriguez, 54, 219 Michigan Ave.; held in lieu of $7,500.

Evan Michael Thomas, 19, 176 Peach Street; held in lieu of $5,000 bail.
