    Battle zucchini

    Overwhelmed with zucchini? Some of us at the Herald and News are. One of our copy editors brought in a box of giant zucchini last week and put us to the test. I turned one specimen into four loaves of zucchini bread and a casserole and still had a significant amount left. That’s not counting the zucchini that ended up in my eyebrows.     On Tuesday night, the H&N sports department covered the crosstown doubleheader between Triad and Hosanna Christian. Seeing as the teams are in the same town and league, and each school's respective gyms are packed more so than usual when they square off, we sports guys have determined this clash needs a name.

As of Friday evening, there were 110 people in the Klamath County Jail, which has a designed capacity of 152.

    Ernest William Hennings, 47, 227 Michigan St.; probation violation — possession of a controlled substance; released on own recognizance.

    Clayton Allen Kee, 21,

LaPine; two counts of probation violation — harassment (touching intimate parts); released on own recognizance.

    Joel Louis Townsend, 23, transient; fugitive from another state (felony assault and battery); held in lieu of $20,000 bail.

    Steven Michael Wise, 20, 823 Walnut Ave.; five probation violations on second-degree burglary, first-degree theft, and three counts of third-degree rape; held in lieu of $17,500 bail.

    Jason Buckley Bowman, 37, 1732 Gary St.; parole violation — first-degree burglary, held without bail.

DUII

    Dustin Evan Giller, 23, 5113 Chestnut Lane; booked and released.

    Michelle Anne Lowe, 37, 1920 Arthur St. No. 1; booked and released.
