    Battle zucchini

    Overwhelmed with zucchini? Some of us at the Herald and News are. One of our copy editors brought in a box of giant zucchini last week and put us to the test. I turned one specimen into four loaves of zucchini bread and a casserole and still had a significant amount left. That’s not counting the zucchini that ended up in my eyebrows. Luckily, the Herald and News is here to help. Each year we print recipes from readers. If you have a tasty favorite, send it to news@heraldandnews.com.

    Name that rivalry

    On Tuesday night, the H&N sports department covered the crosstown doubleheader between Triad and Hosanna Christian. Seeing as the teams are in the same town and league, and each school's respective gyms are packed more so than usual when they square off, we sports guys have determined this clash needs a name.

    As of Friday evening, there were 116 people in the Klamath County Jail, which has a designed capacity of 152.

    Ryan Marcus Joseph Lobdell, 25, 908 Owens St., two counts parole violation, failure to appear (possession of a controlled substance); held in lieu of $5,000 bail.

    Lief Michael Walker, 22, 1600 Oregon Ave., probation violation (second-degree burglary), probation violation (second-degree arson), probation violation (criminal conspiracy); held in lieu of $10,000 bail.

    James Linwood Dines, 49, Tulelake, unlawful possession of methamphetamine; held in lieu of $25,000 bail.

    Patti Jean Dines, 41, Tulelake, possession of a controlled substance; held in lieu of $25,000 bail.

DUII

    Mary Louise Voehl, 21, 1754 Dawn St.; held in lieu of $5,000 bail.

    Jon Michael Duncan, 24, 1869 Manzanita Ave.; released after posting 10 percent of $5,000 bail.
