You can get your face painted. You can watch someone rappel down a building.
Or you can join a crowd who plan to cheer on soldiers returning from Afghanistan as they march down Klamath Avenue.
Activities will abound on Fourth of July throughout the Klamath and Tulelake basins. Here’s a list of activities on Independence Day:
Klamath Falls
A street fair runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday on Main Street between Fourth and 10th streets. Festivities will include about 70 food and business vendors, face painting, petting zoo, bowling lanes for adults and children, skateboarding and BMX bike demonstrations.

Several businesses, emergency services, including Klamath County Fire District No. 1 and police agencies will participate in the parade. Some businesses and nonprofit organizations will ride floats through town and color guards from the Klamath VFW post and Kingsley Field will perform. Forty-two Army National Guard soldiers, who just returned home from Afghanistan as part of “Operation Enduring Freedom,” also will march in the parade.
The Klamath Chorale, Klamath Falls Community Band and Intervision will perform at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 5:30 p.m., at Veterans Park.
