Small schools can put up big marks at invite

They may represent the smallest schools in the Klamath Basin, but the athletes at the Bonanza Twilight Invitational track and field meet could produce some brilliant marks.
When the competition begins at 3:30 p.m. Friday with the field events, some of the top performers among the state's Class 2A and Class 1A athletes will be present.
Then, there are the athletes from northern California.
Chiloquin, Lakeview and Big Valley all have top marks in their events so far this season, along with athletes from Bonanza.
Almost every event, including the running competitions that start at 4 p.m., have at least two state leaders. Many have three and some have four.
In the boys shot put, Chiloquin's Bryson Barney is the Class 2A state leader at 48 feet, nine inches, and Bonanza's John Laidet is second at 47-4 1/4.
Also among the top seven are Lakeview's Andrew Hennings and Chiloquin's Luis Ochoa.
Other boys to lead their respective state division and event are Lakeview's Caleb Howard (800 and 1,500), Bonanza's Andy Davis (110 high hurdles) and Kyle Gomez (javelin) and Big Valley's Talor Fulfer (high jump and triple jump).
Among the state leaders are Bonanza's Stephen Dickinson, Lakeview's Benner Cox and Seth Walker, Chiloquin's Jaimo Jackson and Shilo Kalmer and Tulelake's Spencer Greenbank.
On the girls side, Lakeview's Keli Hall (400) and Ashley Baldovino (1,500), Chiloquin's Ruby Davis (shot put) and Triad's Erin Kroeker (800) and Rachael Estabrook (1,500).
State leaders include Bonanza's Addie Gallagher and Kim Eitner, Lost River's Kayla Swingle and Macayla Claver, Lakeview's Talissa Baldovino and Heather Fledderjohann and Chiloquin's Dani Case and Lorena Ochoa.
