The only conference to send four teams in an NAIA Division II men's basketball tournament has done it again.
For the second time in three years, the Cascade Collegiate Conference will have an obvious presence next week at the national tournament in Branson, Mo.
Oregon Tech qualified as the league's regular season champion.
Warner Pacific was guaranteed a spot because of its top 10 ranking, knowing it would get, at the worst, an at-large berth. The Knights, however, won the league's postseason tournament and a second automatic berth.
Northwest University was guaranteed an at-large berth Saturday because of the results of other conference tournaments.
Albertson College of Idaho gained a ticket to Branson when Walsh of Ohio and Mayville State of North Dakota both won their respective conference tournaments Tuesday night.
Warner Pacific's 58-51 win over Eastern Oregon Tuesday in the league playoffs means EOU will remain home. Had the Mountaineers won, the conference would have had five teams in Branson.
The four teams will learn at about 4 p.m. (PST) today who their first-round opponents will be, and when those games will be played. The first round is scheduled for March 7-8.
The tournament will run through March 13, and OIT will attempt to join Northwestern of Iowa and Bethel of Indiana as the only multiple winners of national titles.
As part of the pairings, each team also will learn its seed, which may not parallel the final national ratings where OIT was fifth in voting by coaches from around the country.
“I think we'll be somewhere between fifth and eighth, maybe ninth,” OIT coach Danny Miles said of the seeds. Bellevue of Nebraska and MidAmerica Nazarene of Kansas are expected to be seeded first and second, respectively.
The national seeding committee will use a combination of ballots to seed the tournament's 32 teams, with Bellevue playing the 32nd seed in the first round, most likely Fisher of Massachusetts.

" Long live Matt Miles! He was the "Billy Kilmer" of Semi Pro Football: tough, gritty, fiery leader, winning mentality. I will never forget this "young gunslinger", he made this league better for being in it.
