Cob plant not wanted

Wednesday, August 20, 2003 1:05 PM PDT
Published August 20, 2003

The Cob power plant will be a lose-lose proposition for everyone in Klamath County. The only beneficiaries will be Peoples Power and the residents of California. All we will get out of it is a lot of suckers - sucker people to go along with the sucker fish we already have.

What are we saying to our children and grandchildren? That no matter how hard working and responsible they are, it doesn't really count. There are people with power and money who think nothing of destroying the way of life of our farmers and ranchers in order to get what they want.

I urge everyone to let our elected representatives, county commissioners John Elliot, Al Switzer and Steve West, State Sen. Steve Harper and state Rep. Bill Garrard know that we do not want or need Cob in Klamath County.
