Two meetings are coming up this week on the proposed California-Oregon Border, or COB, power plant:
"Save Our Rural Oregon," a non-profit organization formed last month, plans an informational meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Social Hall of the Catholic Church in Bonanza.
The state Office of Energy will hold an open house from 5 to 9 p.m Thursday at the Bonanza School gym.
Lyn Brock of Save Our Rural Oregon said anyone who has concerns about the plant should come."We will help them get a lot of facts," she said. "We are kind of like an information dissemination and information service."
At the Office of Energy's open house, people will have the chance to talk with officials from Peoples Energy of Chicago, which proposed the plant, and with officials of the Office of Energy, Oregon Department of Water Resources, Oregon Department of Environmental Quality.
"People should show up if they have questions about the application that they want to pose," said Catherine Van Horn of the Office of Energy.
Information is available at the Bonanza library and the Klamath County Library. Comments need to be submitted June 23.
For more information about Save Our Rural Oregon call Brock, or her husband Bill Brock, at 545-1205 or Diana Giordano at 545-6206.
