Trying to change the ESA
published April 9, 2003
U.S. Rep. Greg Walden today re-introduced legislation aimed at changing the Endangered Species Act by incorporating a scientific peer review process as a prerequisite for ESA decisions.
Walden's effort to change the ESA stems from the 2001 Klamath water crisis. Walden tried to move the bill through Congress last summer, but the full House was not able to consider it before the end of the year.
